Thank you for your responses to our recent consultation about Business Dress and term dates; your feedback has been discussed with the Q3 Academies’ Trust Board and the decisions are outlined below.
Letter to Year 11 Parents/Carers – Sixth Form Open Evening
Choosing destinations for study after Year 11 can sometimes be a confusing and difficult course to navigate. We offer an extremely high quality education for students at Q3 Academy Great Barr’s Sixth Form.
Food Bank Donations
We are currently collecting for the local food bank at Great Barr. Tutor Groups are gathering donations and decorating a box in a theme of their choice.
Letter to Parents/Carers – Appointments During Term Time
There has been a recent increase in the number of students attending appointments during the academic day, please note that we do not authorise routine dental check-ups or optician appointments. These appointments should be arranged outside of the Academy day or during Academy holidays.

I would like to invite parents and carers of students in Year 7 to the first Hori7on Showcase of the academic year. Students have been working incredibly hard in their Hori7on lessons, and this is an opportunity for them to share their learning with you.

End of Year Letter
As we draw the academic year to an end I want to first thank, on behalf of staff and governors, all students, parents and carers for their hard-work and support. Similarly, we wish those staff that are leaving our best wishes and we thank them for their work at Q3 Academy Great Barr.
