Academy Reopening and Testing Schedule
We are excited to confirm that we will be reopening to all students over the coming weeks in line with government guidelines, and cannot wait to welcome students back to face-to-face teaching!
COVID-19 Testing
Before students return to face-to-face teaching, COVID-19 tests will be done in the Academy, and afterwards we’ll be able to provide Home Test Kits for students to test themselves providing they attend all in-Academy tests. Whilst these tests are not compulsory, the government strongly recommends them in order to help keep everyone safe.
To begin testing, this consent form must be completed online by the parent/carer of each student in order to register them for testing. You must complete the online form even if you’ve already given us a paper consent form. If the online form is not completed, then unfortunately we’ll be unable to conduct the test. Please ensure this form is completed at least 24 hours before your child’s first test (we recommend that you do this now).
We’ll be welcoming students for testing only from Monday 1st March (see the schedule below). They will come directly to Quest at the time for their Tutor Group, and go straight home afterwards.
It is really important that when students attend the Academy for their test, it is at the right date and time for their Tutor Group as detailed at the bottom of this page. Students must then return home as soon as their test is completed; national lockdown restrictions are still in force at this time. The Department for Education has confirmed that these journeys for testing are permitted under current restrictions.
On confirmation that all COVID-19 tests taken are negative, students may then return to the Academy at their normal start time on their Year Group’s return date as below. Students who are not tested may also return with the rest of their Year Group. Students should continue with their online learning unless attending the Academy for a test.
Return to face-to-face teaching
Students will return on a staggered schedule, as shown below. When students return to the Academy for teaching, they must attend in full Business Dress and wear a face mask unless exempt, they must also social distance from students who are not in their Year Group and stick to their designated areas in the Academy to avoid mixing bubbles.
Students who are currently attending the Academy as part of our lockdown provision are entitled to continue attending until their Year Group returns, as detailed in the schedule below.

New systems
We have invested in an online system for the tracking and monitoring of injuries, medication administration, and illness. You may receive an email from ‘Medical Tracker’ which will notify you of any of the aforementioned incidents, including the need for your child to self isolate if they come into contact with any suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Return Schedule Overview

* On Tuesday 9th March, Years 11-13 will have returned to the Academy for teaching, so we’ll arrange times for them to take their third test during the course of the day.
Times for Testing
It is important that students attend punctually at the time below for their Tutor Group, and at no other time. The time is the same for all three tests. Students must wear a face mask and social distance whilst on site and report directly to Quest (they must not enter the Academy building or go anywhere else on the Academy site other than Quest).
