Malvern Show Q3 Academy were awarded the “Best in Show”

Q3 Academy were awarded the “Best in Show” and “Highly Commended” titles after being judged by RHS judges.

Q3 Academy in Great Barr were celebrating on Thursday 7th May 2009 when their garden was named “Best in Show” and “Highly Commended” by the Three Counties Agricultural Society and the Royal Horticultural Society Judges from a group of 7 schools and Academies from around the Midlands.

The competition itself was run in connection with the work carried out by the RHS, Three Counties and BAM Construction where Year 9 students came up with the idea to construct a garden to commemorate the British Legion.

The students came up with the theme and had to keep to a strict budget. The response from the public was overwhelming.

Curriculum Director for Design and Technology Mr Mark Roberts said:

“The students have been excellent from start to finish. It has been a very positive experience for all involved”.
