Useful Information

The Q3 Academy is a school being constructed on the site of, and replacing, the existing Dartmouth High School. The Academy will open in September 2008 in the existing Dartmouth High School buildings and is expected to move into the new buildings in September 2009. The Q3 Academy will accommodate 1 150 pupils which includes a sixth form provision of 250.

The scope of works for the successful contractor will comprise:- the implementation of a portion of the solution (ICT equipment and services) into the existing accommodation; its subsequent transfer and re-commissioning of the initial implementation along with full implementation of the comprehensive solution into the new building; ongoing support and development of the solution; and extension of solution and provision of services to directly related institutions, e.g. feeder primary schools and community groups.

The Academy will be an ICT rich environment, with a high computer to pupil ratio.

It is expected this will include:- Active Networking, including Wireless, Server Infrastructure, Staff and Pupil Computers, Peripherals, Specialism response, AV Equipment, Telephony, Integration of ICT with vending, library, access/security, CCTV and registration/identification systems including smartcard/biometric infrastructure, Software (excluding Specialist Software); Learning Platform (Managed Learning Environment); Consumables; Maintenance and support of ICT; Ongoing support and development of the solution; Training; and Delivery and commissioning.
