Following the launch of our Preloved Business Dress and Sports Kit in our communication here, we’re proud to begin offering this service to anybody who requires it. You can submit a request for Preloved Business Dress and Sports Kit here. If you have any items of Business Dress or Sports Kit that are still in good condition, but that your child has outgrown, then we would gladly welcome them in order to be able to continue to offer this service; please ask your child to hand items in to their Personal Tutor. 

Students finishing Year 11 in the summer of 2023 may wish to buy a souvenir of their time at Q3 Academy Great Barr, and have the option to purchase a Leavers’ Hoodie from the webstore here.

Summer 2021 Examination Certificates will be available for collection from 3:30pm to 4:30pm on Tuesday 28th February (for surnames starting A-J only) and on Wednesday 1st March (for surnames starting K-Z only). Candidates require photo ID to collect their certificates.

Department for Education research has shown that poor attendance to the Academy reduces a child’s likelihood of achieving good results and living life to the fullest. We appreciate that there can be barriers to learning which we are dedicated to supporting you and your child to overcome, our Attendance and Welfare team are on hand to discuss any concerns that you may have; you can contact them here. The teachers’ union, NEU are taking industrial strike action in England and Wales on: Wednesday 1st February 2023 Wednesday 1st March 2023 Wednesday 15th March 2023 Thursday 16th March 2023 The other main teaching union, NASUWT, has directed its members not to cover lessons of those teachers on strike. Regrettably this means that we are unable to open the Academy as normal. 

KS3 Students who have missed their flu immunisations have the opportunity to catch up on this through the following weekend clinics. Please contact the respective clinic directly with any questions and/or to make an appointment.

I am pleased to inform you of the result of our recent election for Parent Governors. Elected: Ms Marcia Copeland and Mrs Sally Hall We would like to thank those who put their names forward, and we are sorry that there were insufficient places for all those interested at this time.

Sandwell Local Authority, the Attendance Support Service, and Public Health are keen to identify ways in which they can support with improving the attendance of all young people to educational settings across Sandwell. Parents/carers can access the survey to share their views here.

A reminder that we are taking part in the Sandwell Wellbeing Charter Mark audit process to ensure that we are best supporting our students. We want to collect the views of our parents/carers on key areas that have an impact on you and your child’s wellbeing. Your views can help support your child’s mental health and wellbeing and empower you in being an active part of our Academy community! If you’d be happy to engage with the Academy by sharing your views and attending a focus group, then please contact Ms Kudryl here by Friday 13th January 2023.
