Parent and Carer Letter – September 2018
Welcome back to the new academic year 2018-2019. The term is now well underway and we are delighted that our students have settled into the new academic year so well. I am particularly impressed with our new Year 7 students and with the warm welcome they have been shown by older students. We are equally proud that so many of our former Year 11 students have achieved the grades they needed to return to our Sixth Form.
Parent and Carer Letter – Operation Encompass
The Academy has been given the opportunity to take part in a project that will be run jointly between schools and West Midlands Police.
Macron Sizing Event
Our sports kit provider, Macron, are holding a sizing event at Q3 Academy Great Barr on Tuesday 2nd October from 3.00pm-7:30pm. The event will showcase the Academy sport kit and reduce the need for exchanges, due to incorrect sizes being ordered.
Insight/Parent Portal Meal Reporting
The meal reporting issues within Insight have now been resolved. All meal history should now be visible when logged into the Insight web site or Insight App.
Parent and Carer Letter – July 2018
As we draw the academic year to an end I want to first thank, on behalf of staff and governors, all students, parents and carers for their hard-work and support. We wish you all a restful break, and we look forward to sharing the examination results of our Year 11 and Sixth Form in September.
Letter to Parents – Open Water swimming
We have received the attached safety advice from Sandwell Child Services regarding the dangers of Open Water Swimming, and have been asked to pass it on to our students and their families.
Q-Point Update
The way that Q-Points can be redeemed is changing in response to student feedback. All Q-Points must now be spent in the Rewards Catalogue during the summer term through requesting an order postcard from their Personal Tutor, there’s an exciting range of items to choose from that have all been specifically chosen by students themselves. The Rewards Catalogue will continue to evolve with student feedback, and at the last Student Council meeting there was even some talk of Q-Point levels unlocking exciting opportunities! Q-Points must be claimed in the academic year in which they are accrued, they do not rollover. The last year that students will be able to claim Q-Points to be paid into bank accounts will be the academic year 2019-2020, students leaving the Academy after this point are not eligible for cash withdrawals. Q-Points are not transferable and have no cash value, and the rewards system is subject to change without notice. No further claims will be accepted for any student after 30th September 2020.
Letter to Parents – 2018-2019 42 Bus
The Academy have been contacted by Diamond Buses to make us aware that there is a chance that the 42 bus service will not run next academic year.
Inset Day – Monday 2nd July 2018
Please note that Monday 2nd July 2018 is an INSET Day. The Academy will be closed to students.
