Parent Consultation Events – Years 7-10
Following extensive feedback gathered from last year’s Parent Consultation Events, we are introducing a new approach this year that we hope will make the experience even more meaningful, flexible, and accessible for all families.
This year, we will be operating a model in which parents/carers will book an extended consultation with their child’s Personal Tutor either in-person or virtually. Personal Tutors will have gathered feedback from all your child’s teachers in advance, allowing them to provide a clear, holistic, and concise overview of your child’s progress.
We understand that many parents/carers value the opportunity to speak directly with individual teachers. You are warmly encouraged to continue to do so by contacting the Parent Helpdesk, where staff will help direct your query to the appropriate member of the teaching team.
We are trialling this new format for several reasons:
✓ To streamline communication and ensure that parents receive well-rounded feedback without needing to secure multiple short appointments.
✓ To offer greater flexibility, allowing families to choose either an in-person meeting at the Academy or a virtual appointment for those who prefer to connect from home, work, or away.
✓ To ensure that every parent/carer can book an appointment, which is often challenging under the traditional model where teachers have very limited capacity to meet families of every student they teach.
This year’s events will be held as follows, please note that you will choose one of these options:
✓ In-person appointment on Thursday 16th April 2026 from 4pm at the Academy; or,
✓ Virtual appointment on Thursday 23rd April 2026 from 4pm.
You will receive an email before the end of this term with instructions on how to book.
We hope this trial provides a more personalised and accessible experience for all families and will welcome your feedback following the events as we continue to refine how we communicate your child’s progress.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support.
