Update on Plans for Reopening (Years 7-9)

As announced in Dr Badyal’s earlier update, we have been working hard to plan a safe way of enabling face-to-face meetings with all of our Key Stage 3 students before the summer break for those who wish to attend. The eLearning Hub will continue to be populated with work, and students will continue to work from home. However, this meeting will allow your child to catch up with their Personal Tutor who will be able to provide reassurance around the work they are completing, and support with any concerns they might have.

We have a stringent safety plan in place and the Academy is undergoing thorough cleaning at the start and end of each day as well as throughout the day, there are also a number of additional measures in place as detailed in this video which we’d ask all students to watch carefully before attending.

Your child will receive a time slot to attend the Academy as well as details of the entrance point they must use. It is imperative that your child attends only at their given time (not arriving early or late), and that they report to the entrance point identified and line up on the floor markers in place to help maintain social distancing. Social distancing must remain in place at all times on site and on your child’s journey to and from the Academy. Where the use of public transport is necessary please encourage your child to follow all safety precautions. If you are collecting your child at the end of their session then please remain in your vehicle at the drop-off point to minimise the number of people outside the Academy.

Your child will be allocated a time slot to attend one meeting with a ‘bubble’ of students from their Tutor Group, on one day as follows:

Year 9 from 29th June to 2nd July

Year 7 from 7th July to 10th July

Year 8 from 14th July to 17th July

Thank you for all you are doing to support your children with their distance learning and for your ongoing encouragement. We look forward to welcoming them to the Academy over the coming weeks!

Assistant Vice Principal & Director of Key Stage 3
