Staggered Return for Students in January

As you may be aware, the government has recently announced that there will be a staggered start to the new term in January. This is to try to reduce the transmission of the virus following the return of students after Christmas.



These new guidelines mean that there will now be some year groups attending the Academy and other year groups learning from home.

Tuesday 5th – Friday 8th January 2021

Years 11 and 13 students should return to the Academy on Tuesday 5th January.

Years 7-10 and Year 12 are to remain at home and engage in online learning following their normal timetable. Google Classroom can be accessed here.

Vulnerable students and the children of key workers in Years 7-10 are able to attend the Academy if there is no adult supervision at home. These students will be having the same remote learning experience as all other students, but will be accessing the learning from computers at the Academy. You must complete this online form here if you’d like your child to attend.

Monday 11th January 2021

From this date we expect that all students will be able to return to the Academy.

COVID-19 Testing

You will have heard about the government’s plans to offer voluntary COVID tests. At present there is very little practical detail about precisely how and who will administer these tests and we will provide more information when able. We ask that students and families continue to adhere closely to COVID guidelines, so we can continue to keep our academies as safe as possible.
