COVID-19 Update

The Prime Minister has announced new temporary measures following the emergence of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in the UK.

Face Coverings

The immediate impact of these measures on our students is the reintroduction of face coverings; students should now wear face coverings in communal areas of the Academy, unless they are exempt. Students do not need to wear these when seated in lessons, but are welcome to do so if they wish.

Testing

We ask that students continue to test twice weekly using lateral flow devices; these can be ordered for free here.

Contact Tracing and Isolation

The current guidance on contact tracing and isolation remains in place. In addition to these, any suspected or confirmed close contacts of the Omicron variant will be asked to self-isolate for 10 days. We will contact you directly if this applies.

Vaccination

We encourage all of the Academy community aged 12 and over to take up the vaccine. The vaccine is the best defence against COVID-19 and makes people less likely to catch the virus, and less likely to pass it on. You can book a vaccine for free here.
