Letter from Mr Arnull
Dear Parent/Carer,
It is with mixture of excitement and sadness that I wish to inform you I have decided to resign from my leadership of Q3 Academy Great Barr at the end of this academic year.
It has been an absolute privilege to lead the Academy since Easter 2016.
During this time the Academy, the community and the country have undergone so many changes and it has been heartening to play a small part in the growth and development of so many young people.
Having worked in five different schools and academies in four Local Authorities in the West Midlands, I know that the bond between staff, students, and their families is really special here at our Academy, and we have created a culture of care and support that enables us to challenge young people to grow academically and socially. We do genuinely celebrate the achievements of every student, and I am always thrilled to learn how they have developed their education and careers.
I know that our recent merger with The Mercian Trust leaves Q3 Academy Great Barr in a much stronger position, as an integral part of a Trust that is committed to social mobility and helping young people to flourish. I know that the CEO, Mr Parkes and his team, and our local governors, are committed to finding the right person to lead the Academy into its next phase of growth, and I am confident that with your continued support we will remain a strong comprehensive Academy at the heart of its community.
I will not be losing all contact with the Academy as I will be moving on to a new position in the Mercian Trust next academic year where I will be able to play a wider supportive role across all of our academies in Sandwell and Walsall.
In the meantime, you can be assured that I will help to ensure a smooth transition as we recruit the new headteacher in readiness for the new academic year in September.
Lastly, I wish to thank the governors, staff, students and families for making my time at Q3 Academy Great Barr so special.
Mr Arnull
Headteacher
