Letter to Parents/Carers from Dr Badyal

I write to inform you that I have taken the decision to retire from my role as Chief Executive of the Q3 Academies Trust on 31st August 2020. I have thoroughly enjoyed my 35 years in the teaching profession and will hold onto the wonderful memories. However, I am now very much looking forward to ‘slowing down’ and spending quality time with my family.

Our three excellent Heads of School and their staff will continue the great work they are doing for our children while working with the Q3 Academies Trust to spearhead the next stage in its development.

My journey on the Great Barr site began in September 2002 when I agreed to support the previous Dartmouth High School for a short period of time. Following my appointment as Headteacher in 2003, I then progressed to become Principal of the new Q3 Academy in 2008, and then finally appointed to my current role in 2016 as the Trust expanded.

Throughout my career, I have been very fortunate to work with wonderful people. Our staff and our children are the reason I have always enjoyed coming to work – they are fantastic. It has been a pleasure to see our children grow, develop and go on to realise their ambitions. I would like to thank our Sponsor, Eric Payne for giving me the opportunity to launch and
develop the Q3 Academies family, and our Trustees and Governors for their support and encouragement.

Thank you for the many years of support you have provided and I hope that we can resume some normality as COVID-19 runs its course. I hope to be able to see some of you at events that we may be able to resume before the end of the summer term.
