Summer Activities across Sandwell

There are loads of services and activities open to young people across Sandwell this summer. Here’s a round-up of some of the great things available.

Youth Services re-opened

Sandwell Youth Service will also be re-opening some of its youth clubs from this week at the following locations. Spaces are limited, so to book your place please email here giving your name and the club you wish to attend.

Tanhouse Youth Club (Hamstead Road, Great Barr)

Tuesdays 7pm – 9pm and Thursday 7pm – 9pm

Lodge Road Youth Club (West Bromwich)

Tuesdays 7pm – 9pm and Thursday 7pm – 9pm

Windmill Youth Club (Smethwick)

Tuesdays 6:30pm – 8:30pm and Thursday 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Youth Teams

In addition, detached youth teams will continue to operate at key locations throughout the summer. Details of where and when the teams will be out each week can be found here.

Holiday Activity and Food Programmes

The Youth Service will also be delivering Holiday Activity & Food programmes in key parks. From a skating competition (including learning new skills and tricks), music, magic and circus skills, graffiti art, film-making, to climbing, and sports! The following parks will be hosting this programme:

Dartmouth Park, West Bromwich – 26th– 29th July

Brunswick Park, Wednesbury – 2nd – 5th August

Lightswood Park, Smethwick – 9th-12th August

Britannia Park, Rowley Regis – 16th – 19th August

Victoria Park, Tipton – 23rd -26th August

Tividale Park, Oldbury – 23rd-26th August  

Just Youth Sandwell

These programmes have been made possible due to funding and support from the Holiday Activity & Food programme and are supported by Ashley Richards, Community Engagement Manager for Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Adventurous Activity Days at Malthouse Stables

Malthouse Stables will be offering adventurous activity days which will include mountain biking and canoeing as part of the Holiday Activity & Food programme which have limited spaces available and will need to be pre-booked. Targeted Young Women’s Programme

There is targeted provision for young women available throughout the summer. Young women will need to be referred to this programme and will need to meet our Enhanced Youth Support provision criteria. Further information on referring a young person to this programme can be gained from Kelly Croft on 07973550789.

Summer Food Programme

The Department for Education’s Holiday Activities and Food Programme has provided funding for councils to deliver free fun activities linked to a food offer for children and young people who are eligible for free school meals during the summer holidays. Children and young people can be registered for the programme here.
