COVID-19 Update
We have been advised that there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Year 8 and we are awaiting the results of a Year 9 student. As a result we have asked a small number of students to self-isolate. We will contact you directly if your child is affected. The Academy remains open, and providing your child remains well they may continue to attend as normal unless directed otherwise.

The Academy remains open, and providing your child remains well they may continue to attend as normal unless directed otherwise. We will keep this under review, and are currently contacting any students and staff who have been in direct or close contact with the affected student; these students and staff will not be attending the Academy and must self-isolate returning to the Academy from Wednesday 21st October 2020.

Student Data: Language Request
Please ensure that the following questions are considered carefully to best advise us of your child’s language status. Did your child arrive to this country from another country where the first language is not English? Does your child speak a language other than English at home? Do you, or another parent/carer/community member, communicate with your child in a language other than English? If you answer yes to any of the above, please advise us that your child’s language is ‘Other than English’. If you answer no to all of the above, please advise us that your child’s language is ‘English’.
Parking Congestion
We have been asked by the Police to politely remind parents/carers that the area to the front of the Academy is a red route, and as such no vehicles may be parked or stop there for any reason including dropping off or picking up passengers. The Police will be making regular inspections along this route and fining any vehicles who stop along the red route or who park dangerously or discourteously.

The Academy remains open, and providing your child remains well they can continue to attend as normal. We will keep this under review, and have already contacted any students and staff who have been in direct or close contact with the affected student; these students and staff will not be attending the Academy, and have been directed to self-isolate.
Year 11 Virtual Event
Year 11 students will today be receiving an important letter about a virtual event for your child and for you as parents/carers. This is an important year for your child, as they are preparing for challenging GCSE exams and starting to make key decisions about their future education and career.
Changes to the Academy Day from Monday 28th September 2020
We are delighted to be able to make some adjustments to further improve the smooth running of the Academy day following feedback from students, parents/carers, and staff. These changes do not relax any restrictions, and students will remain in their bubbles. However, we hope that these changes will allow us to manage the situation even better.
