Academy Closure and Examination Impact

The Academy will be closed until further notice as instructed by the UK Government in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. Please stay home and stay safe.

Students will have access to remote learning through Google Classroom and our staff are working tirelessly to ensure that all students continue to receive the best education possible under these very difficult circumstances, please be patient while this is implemented fully.

Year 11 and 13, we realise that it’s upsetting and frustrating that the future of this year’s exam series is not quite certain yet, and you’ve worked so hard in preparation. Please do not panic and feel that the work that you have done, and are continuing to do, is in vain, we recognise your extraordinary efforts and appreciate the dedication of each and every one of you, and will fight to ensure that this is recognised as best as is possible. It’s important that you keep on working through this to ensure the best outcome. We’re on your side!

As far as we are currently aware, external examinations will be going ahead next week as planned, so students should continue to prepare for these. We will of course contact students affected directly if this situation changes.

The only students who may continue to attend the Academy for supervised access to remote learning are those who meet the Government’s criteria set out here and where there is no supervision at home. If your child meets this criteria then please ensure that you register for this service in advance using this form.

We appreciate that this isn’t necessarily welcoming news for all of you. However, we encourage you to please abide by the lockdown restrictions, help to control the virus, and allow us to return to a more normal Academy life as soon as possible.
