I am delighted to be able to inform you that to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2021, the Academy has arranged for all students in Years 9, 10, and Sixth Form to participate in a live-streamed event run by the Holocaust Educational Trust. During the event, students will hear the testimony of Holocaust survivor Eve Kugler BEM as she addresses the event. and will even have to opportunity to submit questions.(Read more…)
For those parents and carers of children in receipt of the Free School Meals scheme, thank you for your patience in awaiting a national voucher system from the government. This system is currently inundated with demand and we will release your vouchers as soon as we have access to them. In order for you to receive your voucher, you must ensure that your email address is up-to-date and accurate; you can check this in the Insight ParentPortal.(Read more…)
Our wonderful PACT committee of parents continue to meet and support the Academy even through the pandemic, and have contributed to provide support for some of our more vulnerable students. We realise that fundraising in such a difficult time for everyone is a challenge, and definitely not everyone’s priority right now. So, we hate to ask, but if you can afford the cost of a lottery ticket then you can make a difference! Plus you’re in with a chance of winning £25,000! (Read more…)

You will have heard in the news that students returning to education will be offered lateral flow tests. We are awaiting delivery of the equipment and have been working hard over the holidays to plan carefully for this. As you may be aware, the government has today announced that there will be a further staggered start to the new term in January. This is to try to reduce the transmission of the virus following the return of students after Christmas, and to allow us to implement additional measures to help keep everyone safe.
These new guidelines mean that there will now be some year groups attending the Academy and other year groups learning from home. (Read more…)
