Friday 7th July 

A large proportion of our teaching staff are NEU members, and as such the Academy be closed to students on these days.

We approach the end of the summer term in eager anticipation, as always, of the exciting opportunities in store for our annual Rewards Days for students in Years 7-10 & 12. We have consulted with our Student Representatives from each Year Group as to the choices that students would like to see on offer as to appeal to as many of our students as possible; no options are going to appease all audiences, but we have listened, and tried to incorporate feedback to offer a variety of fantastic experiences.(Read more…)

Wednesday 15th March 2023
Thursday 16th March 2023.

The other main teaching union, the NASUWT, has directed its members not to cover lessons of those teachers on strike. Regrettably this means that we are unable to open the Academy as normal. (Read more…)

All of our parents/carers have been sent a text message and email this morning to notify them that the Academy will be closed on Friday 10th March. 

Students can access their learning from home through Google Classroom and additional online learning resources can be found on our Online Student Services page

Closing the Academy is always a last resort, so we can only apologise when the notification to close comes so late. We will always endeavour to open the Academy where possible. However, the ongoing weather conditions make it difficult to maintain the safety of students on the Academy site and impacts our staffing numbers as to provide appropriate supervision.

However, the weather forecast has quickly deteriorated which makes it difficult to maintain the safety of students on the Academy site and impacts our staffing numbers as to provide appropriate supervision.

The Academy has signed up to take part in the OxWell Student Survey, which aims to understand health and wellbeing in young people and support our students’ mental wellbeing. We are asking that all parents/carers carefully read the information about the survey and discuss this with your child. The views of your child would be greatly appreciated in building both a national and Academy-level picture of mental health and wellbeing in young people. Please support your child in understanding the importance of the survey and encourage them to be as detailed and truthful as possible in their responses; the survey is anonymous.
